Aerodeon, Britain's first mobile marketing agency is to start working for the record label Telstar. Aerodeon’s first project is to support the launch of an SMS fan club for Telstar's all-girl band Mis-Teeq.
The fan club launch follows on from the highly successful release of Mis-Teeq's new single 'B with me' and consists of a text message sent to close to four thousand young music lovers already known to Telstar.
The message 'to go buy Mis-Teeq's new single' also consists of a competition for fans to send in a text message reply which could win them a day with the band.
Andrew Jones, managing director, Aerodeon said: "The competition has been set up to keep a dialogue between the database and the brand, with the added incentive of giving one fan the chance to meet the band."
"It's not uncommon for text fan clubs to have between 30,000 - 40,000 members. We anticipate over a thousand responses in the first week of the campaign. The next step for record labels is to build SMS into their customer relationship marketing programme to keep young music fans loyal to the band and then move them upward without losing them as they get older and tastes change. "
