At its council meeting, (Tuesday 11th June 2002), the IPA elected Aerodeon, a mobile marketing agency based in London that prides itself on understanding young people - their fads, fashions and phobias. Established in 2000, it believes that text messaging is an integral part of communicating to youth brands. Aerodeon is the first mobile marketing agency to be awarded IPA membership. Clients include the BBC, Channel 4, Harper Collins, Mars and Warner Records.
To be a member of the IPA is the highest professional recognition that an advertising agency or marketing communications company can achieve.
Kieran Bourke, Aerodeon Commercial Director commented, "We're honoured to to be part of such an esteemed institution and delighted that the IPA council has given mobile marketing its seal of approval. We believe this marks the early stages of advertising industry acceptance of mobile as a mainstream marcomms tool."
