14/08: Pepsi Chart Tunes Into Text
The Pespi Chart Show is set to launch interactive mobile services to it’s weekly audience of 3.5m listeners across it’s network of 100 radio stations. Aerodeon, the creative mobile marketing agency has been appointed to provide the service which will be powered by Wireless Information Network.
Will Dowdy of CRCA, which represents the stations that own the show network commented, "Radio and text messaging are the two media that teenagers have most access to and our core listener demographic represents the highest users of text messaging. The introduction of interactive mobile services to the show is very exciting for our listeners and our advertisers and as one of our programme values is to be always evolving and always current, we intend to ensure that The Pepsi Chart Show is one of the hottest mobile properties in the market ".
The Pepsi Chart Show is broadcast three times a week, on Sunday between 4pm and 7pm followed by a Monday check up and then a mid-week chart position broadcast on Wednesdays. Sinead Dean, from UBC Media, the producers of the The Pepsi Chart Show commented, "Mobile is the perfect interactive medium for the show. You can instantly text Foxy without having to turn down the volume or walk away from the radio set. We have utilised IVR promotions within the programme successfully and they have proved popular with our listeners, the introduction of text messaging services is a natural progression and will fit seamlessly into the format."
Kieran Bourke, Managing Partner at Aerodeon commented, " The CRCA recognises that the youth market is mature when it comes to text messaging. Text ‘n’ Win campaigns will not be enough to engage their audience, what it is required is some of the best creative thinking around mobile interactivity and that’s where Aerodeon comes in. We have some exciting mobile innovations planned - so watch this air space."
